Babar Azam has won the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) ODI Cricketer of the Year award.
In all formats of the Pakistani cricket team, captain Babar Azam scored 405 runs in six ODIs last year.
After naming the award, Babar Azam said that he was happy to win the award. “I always try to live up to the expectations of the fans.”
“Last year’s innings of over 150 against England was my favorite innings,” he said.
According to Babar Azam, there are ups and downs in cricket but they try to learn from mistakes.
The most valuable player of the year
Muhammad Rizwan, who has scored 565 runs for the loss of wickets in Calendar Year 2021, has scored 455 runs in Tests, 134 runs in ODIs and a record 1326 runs in T20 Internationals, has won the Most Valuable Player of the Year award.
Apart from Muhammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, Hassan Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi were nominated for the award.
Apart from receiving the award for the most valuable player of the year, Mohammad Rizwan has also bagged the award for the best T20 international cricketer of the year.
On his success, Mohammad Rizwan said that he is proud to have won the most valuable cricketer award of Calendar Year 2021.
“He is satisfied that his performance in 2021 has played a significant role in Pakistan’s overall performance in all formats.”
Test cricketer of the year
Fast bowler Hassan Ali has won the Test Cricketer of the Year award. He took 41 wickets in nine Test matches in 2021.
After receiving the award, Hassan Ali said that it is a matter of pride to be named Test Cricketer of the Year. “Taking 10 wickets against South Africa in the Rawalpindi Test was a memorable moment in Calendar Year 2021.”
Women Cricketer of the Year
The Women’s Cricketer of the Year award went to Nada Dar. He scored 363 runs and took six wickets in 10 ODIs last year.
He scored 95 runs in six T20 International matches and also took seven wickets.
Receiving the award, Nada Dar said that it is a matter of great pride for me to win this award. It is a source of encouragement.
