- Congress and SP have already canceled the program
- Now BJP also took this step after seeing Corona
- PM Modi’s Lucknow rally may also be canceled
In view of the increase in the cases of Kovid, the Congress had decided to cancel its Pink Marathons and rallies. Now BJP and Samajwadi Party (SP) have also decided to cancel their election programs. According to official sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed rally in Lucknow on January 9 is likely to be canceled in view of the COVID situation and inclement weather conditions. A party functionary said, “We have been informed about the cancellation through official communication in this regard.”
The Samajwadi Party has also canceled its Vijay Rath Yatra, which was to be held on January 7, 8 and 9, which was led by party chief Akhilesh. According to the schedule, Akhilesh was to address public meetings in Gonda, Basti and Ayodhya on January 7, 8 and 9 respectively. SP leaders said that a decision on the meetings to be held after January 9 will be taken in the next few days after assessing the spread of Kovid-19.
Akhilesh’s visit to Ayodhya had created a lot of curiosity in the political circles, as it was his first visit here this election season. Recently, during his Ayodhya visit on 26 December, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had claimed that Akhilesh is planning to stop the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya if he comes to power in the 2022 assembly elections. However, the Samajwadi Party had dismissed Shah’s allegations as baseless.
