Rain and snowfall continue in Jammu and Kashmir, the weather likely to improve on Sunday

Srinagar: Snowfall and rain lashed Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, which is likely to continue for the next 12 hours and reduce gradually on Sunday morning. Meteorological office has predicted this.

A statement issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, “At present, snowfall/rainfall is occurring at most places over Jammu and Kashmir.

The prevailing weather is likely to continue for the next 12 hours. There will be a gradual decrease in the intensity of snow/rain from today evening. There will be significant improvement in Jammu and Kashmir from the morning of 9th.

Air and surface transport may be affected by adverse weather conditions today. There is a possibility of avalanches and landslides in vulnerable areas.

Today’s minimum temperature in Srinagar and Pahalgam was minus 0.2 degrees Celsius, while Gulmarg recorded minus 4.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.

It was minus 7.2 in Ladakh’s Drass town, minus 10.3 in Leh and minus 7.9 in Kargil.

The night minimum temperature was 10.6 degrees in Jammu city, 7.6 degrees in Katra, minus 1.7 in Batote, minus 0.2 in Banihal and minus 0.1 in Bhaderwah.
