Punjab Election 2022 Date: The elections to the Punjab Assembly, being conducted during the Corona period, will be held in a single phase. The Election Commission on Saturday announced the election dates for the Punjab elections. According to the Election Commission, on February 14, voting will be held in all 117 seats in Punjab in a single phase. The state results will be declared after the counting of votes on March 10. With the announcement of the election dates, the model code of conduct has come into force in the state. Special instructions have also been given regarding the Corona guidelines.

When is the term of Punjab Legislative Assembly ending?

Punjab is mainly divided into three regions namely Majha, Malwa and Doab. Malwa has the maximum number of 69 assembly seats in the state. It is said that whoever conquered Malwa, his government is formed in Punjab. The term of the Punjab Legislative Assembly is ending on 27 March 2022. In the 2017 assembly elections in Punjab with 117 seats, the Congress returned to power after ten years by winning 77 seats. While the Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP alliance was reduced to just 18 seats.
