Next Monday the vaccination against Covid-19 begins in the pharmacies of Córdoba. This is part of the announced health decentralization strategy that seeks to facilitate procedures so that all citizens can access the vaccine.
In this way, Córdoba will become the first province of Argentina to vaccinate through these establishments.
Germán Daniele, the head of the Cordoba College of Pharmacists, provided essential information on this new procedure. “The first recommendation is that they consult the list of pharmacies on the weekend or on Monday because the list that I circulate is not definitive,” he said.
Then he emphasized that there are really many places that will be available to access vaccination since when the call was made, 415 pharmacies were registered to collaborate in this initiative only in the first 48 hours.
On the other hand, Daniele clarified that the incorporation of inputs will be progressive. “We are going to do a pilot test in Córdoba capital with not all the pharmacies listed.” He also asked: “that patients be patient” since although pharmacists are used to vaccinating there are limitations if they want to use the supplies productively. “From each bottle there are 14 doses. If you come with the intention of getting vaccinated, I have to get 13 more patients to be able to optimize this resource,” he explained.
It is for this reason that he recommended that pharmacists communicate with patients “since although there will be shifts, everything will go through this close relationship.” He affirmed that the most convenient thing would be for pharmacists to be able to draw up a list of people who want to be vaccinated and then summon them at a time other than that of the pharmacy to avoid riots.
Finally, he recalled that it is necessary to assist with the vaccination card.
