Global Covid-19 caseload crosses 2999 million

WASHINGTON, DC – Despite a continued resurgence around the world, the global coronavirus caseload has passed 299.9 million with more than 5.47 million deaths and 9.33 billion immunizations, according to Johns Hopkins University.

The university’s Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) released its latest update on Friday morning, revealing that the current global caseload and death toll stood at 299,981,503 and 5,471,816, respectively, while the total number of vaccines administered had risen to 9,336,594,753 .

According to the CSSE, the United States continues to be the worst-affected country with 58,446,019 cases and 833,952 deaths.

India is the country with the second highest number of cases (35,109,286 infections and 482,876 deaths), followed by Brazil (22,328,252 infections and 619,654 deaths).
