vote for Manipur Assembly Elections The Election Commission today announced that polling will be held in two phases on February 27 and March 3 this year.

The Election Commission said that the counting of votes in all the five states will take place on March 10.

N. Biren Singh Of BJP The current Chief Minister of the states is the head of an alliance with the National People’s Party, the Naga People’s Front and the Lok Janshakti Party. Singh has the first BJP government in Manipur.

In the 2017 elections, the Congress was the single largest party. But it failed to form the government after several leaders left the party, after which the BJP successfully formed an alliance.

The term of the current state assembly is scheduled to end on March 19.

There are 60 assembly constituencies in the state (40 General AC; 1 SC and 19 ST AC).

Much to the concern of election watchers, the state has been battling a flurry of militancy-related incidents recently.
