The cases of corona infection have increased again in the national capital on Saturday. 20,181 new cases were registered in Delhi today. There have been 7 deaths here in the last 24 hours. What is a matter of great concern in the national capital is that the positivity rate has reached 19.60 percent.

Positivity rate means that what percent of the total tested cases are found to be infected. For example, out of 100 tests, 10 people are found infected, then the positivity rate is 10 percent. In the last 24 hours in the national capital, 1,02,965 tests have been conducted. Out of one lakh tests, 79,946 were RT-PCR and 23,019 were antigen tests.

The new cases reported in the national capital on Saturday are the highest in a day since May 5. According to the state health bulletin, 1586 patients are admitted in Corona hospitals. Of these, 106 are COVID suspects while 1,480 COVID patients have been confirmed. Of the admitted patients, 375 are on oxygen support. Out of them 27 are on ventilator and 279 other Kovid patients are in ICU.

The bulletin said that around 88.76 per cent beds are vacant in Covid dedicated hospitals and 84.85 per cent beds are vacant in Covid care centres.

Fewer cases came in Mumbai since yesterday

Mumbai recorded 20,318 cases in the last 24 hours on Saturday. A day earlier i.e. on Friday, 20,971 new cases had come. 5 corona patients died in 24 hours. Of the total cases, 82 percent are asymptomatic.

The positivity rate for the cases registered in Mumbai city two days ago i.e. on Thursday had gone up to 29.90 which is very worrying.

According to the one-day data released by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday morning, 1,41,986 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the country. These cases are 21% more than the cases of the last one day. On Friday, 1,17,100 new cases of corona were reported.

The five states that have reported the maximum number of cases on Friday are Maharashtra 40,925, West Bengal 18,213, Delhi 17,335, Tamil Nadu 8,981 and Karnataka 8,449.

On the other hand, 64 more new cases were reported on Omicron’s last day. So far, 3007 cases have been reported in the country. It has spread in 27 states of India. Maharashtra has the highest number of 876 cases, followed by Delhi with 513 cases. So far 1203 people infected with it have been cured.
