New Delhi: There has been a stir in Delhi due to the rapidly increasing cases of corona infection. In view of the threat of the virus, there has been a tremendous increase in the demand for self-testing kits in the national capital.
Sandeep Nangia, president of Delhi Retail Distribution Chemist Alliance, tells news agency ANI, “Around 5,000-10,000 self-testing kits are sold every day in Delhi and there is a huge demand for them.”
In the last 24 hours, more than 20 thousand new cases of corona have been reported in Delhi. While the positivity rate has also reached close to 20 percent. So far seven patients have died due to this disease. The Health Department has told that 102965 samples have been tested in the last one day, in which 19.60 percent samples have been found corona infected.
In Delhi, 20,181 new cases in 24 hours are the highest in almost 8 months. Earlier, the highest number of new corona cases were found since May 5. Then on May 5, 20,960 cases were found. With 19.60 percent, the corona infection rate has also become the highest in about 8 months. The infection rate is at the highest level since May 9. On May 9, the positivity was 21.66%. The number of corona active patients has increased to 48,178. Highest in about 7 and a half months. After May 18, the most active patients have become in the capital. This figure was 50,163 on 18 May.
So far 1526979 people have been corona infected in Delhi. At the same time, 1453658 patients have been cured of the infection. Earlier today, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain had expressed the possibility of more than 20 thousand corona cases. The threat of Omicron is also increasing rapidly in Delhi. Today 48 new cases of Omicron have been found in the capital.
