The Environment Secretariat, dependent on the Coordination Ministry, extended until January 31 the registration period for the “Sustainable Actions Program for Sicpa establishments”, aimed at poultry, pig and feedlot production establishments in the province of Córdoba.

The initiative created in a strategic alliance with the Federal Investment Council (CFI) contemplates financing lines for these establishments, through soft loans of up to 15 million pesos that are intended to invest in human capital and purchase infrastructure, equipment, technology and machinery designed to promote the sustainability of the processes.

What is sought is to promote the circular economy of livestock waste produced in these spaces, through a free diagnosis prepared by environmental managers selected by the provincial body who will provide personalized advice to each production unit.

These professionals will be responsible for planning and proposing improvements in the facilities or in the processes, which each producer can then specify via financing granted by CFI.

For their part, the loans have a 24-month grace period, with terms of 84 months and low rates ranging from 22.48% variable to 30%.

The investments to be financed will allow, for example, that an enterprise can convert, after adequate treatment, the effluents or residues from animal production into a source of organic matter and nutrients that can be used as soil biofertilizers.
