Congress has released its first list for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2022. Most of the discussion is happening in this one name, which hardly anyone has expected. The Congress, playing a big bet, has declared the name of the Unnao rape victim’s mother for the candidature from the Unnao seat.
Addressing a press conference, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi said that 40 percent of Congress candidates are women and the rest 40 percent are youth. This is a move which shows that the party is making a new and historic beginning.
He said the party has fielded candidates who have fought for justice in Uttar Pradesh and the party wants them to come to the fore and be a part of power in the state.
“With 40 per cent women and 40 per cent youth, we hope to start a new kind of politics in Uttar Pradesh,” he said.

Priyanka said, “Our list gives a new message. We want to tell those who have fought for their rights in the past and for getting justice, that they have the power to fight for their rights and Congress The party will give them the power to be a part of power in the state.”
The AICC general secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh did not answer whether she would contest the elections herself or not. He said that the party will not run a negative campaign in these elections and will instead run a positive campaign for the bright future of Uttar Pradesh by raising issues related to people and women and development.
Hitting out at the Uttar Pradesh government, he said, it has been “dictatorial” and the discussions in the elections are skewed. “Our focus will be on bringing people’s issues at the centre,” he said. Voting in Uttar Pradesh is to be held in seven phases from February 10.
