Vishal Angrish, Chandigarh: The differences between Haryana’s farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni and Punjab Vidhansabha’s farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal over seat-sharing for the 2022 assembly elections have come to the fore. Farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni is demanding at least 25 seats for his party, but Rajewal Group is not ready to give more than 9 seats. In such a situation, Gurnam Singh Chaduni has now made up his mind to contest the elections on behalf of his organization.

Farmers have also intensified their political activities regarding Punjab elections. Earlier, where farmers used to say that we will not contest elections nor will we do politics, now farmers have also fielded their candidates in Punjab elections. Balbir Singh Rajewal of United Kisan Morcha has declared his candidates for many seats in Punjab.

The Bharatiya Kisan Union has started challenging its own national president, farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni, in Punjab. The differences between the farmer leaders Rajewal and Gurnam Singh, who were successful in the Delhi Kisan Andolan, are coming to the fore, the reason for the differences is the distribution of seats in the Punjab Assembly.

Farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni himself spoke to Balbir Singh Rajewal several times on this issue, but he is not ready to give more than 9 seats to Gurnam Singh at any cost. Now perhaps he will contest the elections alone in the whole of Punjab, because the Rajewal group is not giving him due attention.
