ISLAMABAD: The Council of Common Interests (CCI) has approved a new census.
The 49th meeting of the Council of Common Interests was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan. A statement issued after the meeting said that the Council of Common Interests had approved the seventh census. The Council of Common Interests also approved the establishment of a Census Monitoring Committee.
Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated the members on the establishment of a permanent secretariat of the Council of Common Interests and said that the permanent secretariat reflects the spirit of cooperation between the federal and provincial governments.
He said that he was committed to resolving national issues in consultation with all federal units and stakeholders.

The committee will be headed by Deputy Chairman Planning, Chief Secretaries and Chairman NADRA and others. The committee will oversee the census activities.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the number of council meetings could be increased as per the demands of the provinces.
According to the recommendations of the advisory committee, it has been decided to conduct the census through digital technology and the census will be conducted before the census.
