A ‘strong weapon’ found against Omicron, AstraZeneca’s booster dose has the ability to stop Omicron

The booster dose of the vaccine is believed to be very effective in the fight against the new variant of the corona virus, Omicron. Bharat Biotech said on Wednesday that a study has demonstrated that a booster dose of covaccine has the ability to prevent infection with Omicron and Delta variants of Kovid-19. Meanwhile, a new study has found that a booster dose of AstraZeneca Vaxzevaria vaccine produces high amounts of antibodies against Omicron.

Preliminary data from the Safety and Immunogenicity Trial showed that the third dose of the coronavirus produces very good antibodies against Vaxgeveria Omicron variants as well as other variants including beta, delta, alpha and gamma. Vaxgeveria is to be given as a booster dose. According to the report, an increased response has been seen in those who have got Vaxjeveria or mRNA vaccine.

Earlier on Wednesday, Bharat Biotech said in a statement that a study conducted at Emory University has demonstrated that people who were given a booster dose of covaccine six months after the initial two doses, increased SARS-CoV-2’s Omicron and Antibodies were seen to be formed against the delta variant.

Earlier studies demonstrated the efficacy of covaccine in inhibiting other variants of SARS-CoV-2, alpha, beta, delta, zeta and kappa. Referring to the results of the study, Bharat Biotech said that more than 90 percent of those who were given a booster dose of the vaccine showed antibodies to prevent infection.
