Samsung’s failure to unveil its much-hyped Exynos 2200 chip on Tuesday fueled rumors that the electronics major was facing issues behind the scenes.

Samsung is yet to officially announce the unveiling of the Galaxy S22 series. However, reports in the Korean media indicated that it would take place on February 8.

Samsung unveiled the flagship smartphone SoC with some dazzling details ahead of its official presentation: The chipset will come with a GPU backed by AMD’s rDNA 2 graphics architecture. AMD architecture powers next-generation graphics on Sony’s PlayStation 5, MicrosoftXbox Series X, and AMD’s own RX 6000-series graphics card.

The South Korean tech giant teased the chipset with clips on its official Twitter account and YouTube channel.

According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will come with 1TB of internal storage and 16GB of RAM. It will also have 12GB RAM option along with three internal storage options 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.

Samsung unveiled last year’s Exynos 2100 SoC two days before the launch of the Galaxy S21 series. However, last year’s chip faced several problems.

Officials blamed the troublesome problems with the ARM Mali-G78 MP14 system. “The new GPU is expected to solve the problems of the Exynos 2100. We intend to increase our competitiveness by loading GPUs for games in mobile devices.”
