Corona Update: The RT-PCR and antigen test of corona used by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in many public places in Mumbai has been completely stopped at present. New guidelines from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) have been cited to stop testing altogether.

At the same time, there has been a decline in the figures of corona infected patients in Mumbai for the last 4-5 days. The decline in the number of infected patients in Mumbai is probably also because BMC has stopped RT-PCR and antigen test at public places in Mumbai like Chowpatty, Bazaar and railway station for the last few days. On January 10, a new guideline was issued by ICMR regarding Corona.

Testing figures for the last three days in Mumbai-

12 January 2022- 67,339

13 January 2022- 63,031

14 January 2022- 54,924

Till the first week of January, an average of 70 thousand tests were conducted daily by BMC in Mumbai city. BMC Mayor Kishori Pednekar says that she is not aware that testing has been stopped, she will respond after taking information about it.

At the same time, a large number of passengers from other states are reaching Mumbai at Mumbai’s major Lokmanya Tilak Terminus railway station. Where till a few days ago, the BMC’s testing team was visible for the passengers coming from other states, although now there is no booth, neither any investigation is being done nor vaccination certificate in any way. Is being investigated.
