Muzaffarnagar: Samajwadi Party MLA from Kairana assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh Nahid Hasan was sent to 14-day judicial custody by a special court on Saturday. Earlier, Hasan was arrested by the police. Giving information about this, the officials said that the police had implemented strict gangster law against Hasan. The MLA was produced before a special MP/MLA court at Kairana in Shamli district where Judge Subodh Singh sent him to 14-day judicial custody.
Case was registered last year
Anil Kaparvan, in-charge of Kairana police station, said that a case was registered against 40 people, including Hasan, last year. Most of the accused were released on bail but Hasan failed to surrender in the court, following which a non-bailable warrant was issued against them, he said. Let us inform that the Samajwadi Party has fielded Hasan from Kairana assembly constituency. At the same time, the Bharatiya Janata Party has expressed confidence in Mriganka Singh from Kairana.
Advocate had filed nomination
Let us inform that on 6 February 2021, the police administration had imposed the Gangster Act on 40 people including SP MLA Nahid Hasan and his mother former MP Tabassum Hasan. Describing Nahid Hasan as the leader of the gang, he said that his fame among the general public is not good. Two days ago, on behalf of the SP-RLD alliance, Nahid Hasan was declared its candidate for the Kairana assembly. His nomination was filed by the advocate on Friday.
