A minor stole Rs 17 lakh from a house in Manimajra, Chandigarh. Father filed a case of theft. On starting the investigation, the police came to know that the complainant’s son and nephew, the operator of the pharmacist company, resident of Manimajra, are also involved in missing the money. In the case, including both, 4 minors and one adult accused Suraj alias Winter (27), resident of Bahlana, were arrested.

Initially, the Chandigarh Police had registered a case of theft, but later after the truth came out, sections of cheating and criminal conspiracy were also added in the case. The police had registered this case on January 12 last. Considering the seriousness of the matter, SIT was formed which solved the case.

The complainant had informed the police that renovation was going on in his house and he was keeping Rs 19 lakh in his house. On January 12, when he opened the bed, he found that Rs 17 lakh was missing. Investigation revealed that his son was fond of playing online games. At the same time, his sister’s son was an expert in these games.

It was the nephew who pressured his son to raise money to buy the ID of online games from the accused named Suraj. After which this amount disappeared. With this amount, the accused bought expensive clothes, iPhone etc. The two minor accused put some money in their accounts and flew to New Delhi and from there to Patna.

Accused Suraj is active on social media

Suraj told during interrogation that he is active on playing online games and on social media. He lures other players to buy ID. Police have recovered Rs 10,22,500 in cash and three iPhones in the case. The minor accused were handed over to their families after being produced in the court through video conferencing. On the other hand, accused Sooraj will be produced in the court on Sunday.
