The Karnataka government eventually decided to hand over the case of the BJP worker’s murder to the NIA. So said the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basbaraj Somappa Bommai. Three people have been murdered in the sensitive community district of Dakshina Kannada in the past eight days. Among them, Mohammad Fazil, 23, was killed in Suratkal on Thursday evening.

Earlier on Tuesday, BJP Yuva Morcha worker Praveen Nettaru was killed. Bommai paid his respects to Nettaru at his residence in Mengaluru on Thursday. Sangh and BJP workers demanded strict measures in the murder investigation. In response, the Chief Minister said the investigation was entrusted to the NIR.

According to police sources, Praveen Nettaru (32) is a resident of Sullia sub-division of Dakshina Kannada district. He was murdered in the Bellade district on Tuesday evening. The police have already arrested two people in this incident. Several other suspects are being questioned about the incident.

Three people have been killed in the past eight days in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. The last person among them is Mohammad Fazil. Three to four unidentified people killed him in the Suratkal area on Thursday evening. In the last eight days before Nettaru, a person by the name of Mohammed Masood was also killed in Dakshina Kannada district. A gang of eight people murdered him. Masud (18) was a painter by profession.

Bommai said the Karnataka government takes all these killings very seriously. He said, “Every life is very important to us. The investigation is ongoing. Such incidents should not happen. The investigation revealed that there is a political motivation behind all these disbelievers. The murder case has several aspects. Masud’s killers have been arrested. A search is underway for the accused in the other two murders. Evil gangs are behind the incident. These criminals will be arrested. What will come out of the investigation, everyone will know in the next four to five days.
