The Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission has recommended to the state government a compensation of five lakh rupees to an elderly person trapped in a false case under the Narcotic Substances Act (NDPS Act) in Jodhpur. The commission has said in its order that the three policemen involved in making a false case against the victim Bhakram (80) should not be posted in any police station in future for five years. Along with this, the commission has recommended the state government to reward all those officers on Republic Day who have done a commendable job of protecting the human rights of a senior common citizen of the state by conducting fair investigation and research in this matter.

The commission disposed of a complaint filed by 80-year-old veteran Bhakram in which he told how a fake case registered against him in 2012 destroyed the reputation of him and his family and cost him five months in judicial custody.

Later, in the investigation of the higher officials of the police, the case turned out to be fake. The officials found a case against the victim Bhakram by the Jamba police station officer Sitaram and his constable Karanram and another constable posted in the police line, Bhagwanaram, after recovering three kg of opium milk and making a case against him under a conspiracy.

Based on the proper investigation of the police officers, the court ordered the release of Bhakram under section 169 of CrPC.

According to a statement, the commission said in the order that after payment of a compensation amount of Rs five lakh, the state government paid Rs two lakh from Sitaram, the then police station officer of Jamba police station, accused in the case, and Rs one lakh each from constables Bhagwanaram and Karnaram. can be deducted from salary.
