Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved two important proposals of the State Mandi Parishad keeping in mind the convenience of the farmers and increasing the income of the mandis. On Tuesday, a meeting of the State Mandi Parishad Board was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister.

In this, the proposal to open petrol pumps/CNG pumps for petroleum companies, CNG companies on the unused land of the mandis was approved to increase the income of the mandis. In the first phase, petrol pumps will be opened in 30 mandis. Petrol companies will be given land on lease up to 1600 square meters in Mandi and Sub Mandi premises. This will also not change the ownership of the land.

It was told that farmers, traders and other people related to the market would also be benefited by this. Similarly, empty shops in the mandis can now be allotted to outsiders as well. It has been decided that if 10 shops are vacant, then five shops will be available to the people registered in the market as per the prescribed procedure. Four shops can be allotted to unregistered people.

One shop will be available to Farmer Producer Groups/Farmer Producer Companies. In the meeting, Minister of State for Agriculture Marketing, Agriculture Foreign Trade and Agriculture Exports, Shri Ram Chauhan, Agriculture Production Commissioner Alok Sinha, Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister SP Goyal and Director Mandi Anjani Kumar Singh etc. senior officers were present in the meeting.
