AUS vs ENG: Australia team has suffered a big setback. Team batsman Travis Head has been ruled out of the next match. His Kovid-19 report has come positive. Due to the players being hit by Kovid-19 during the series, three players have been included in the squad as cover in the Australia team.
Cricket Australia issued a statement saying, ‘Australian batsman Travis Head has been found to be Kovid-19 positive during the routine PCR test. The head is an asymptomatic patient of Corona.
According to the rules of the Victorian Government, he will remain isolated in Melbourne with his partner for the next 7 days. He will not be available for selection in the fourth Test of the Ashes series starting from January 5 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
The statement also said that after Travis Head was found positive, the Australia team squad, support staff and his family members were also tested for PCR and RAT.

Travis Head’s first Australian Test captain Pat Cummins also had to be ruled out of the Adelaide Test due to Corona. Cricket Australia has added three players to its squad as cover in view of the increasing corona cases in the camp. Mitchell Marsh, Nick Madison and Jose Inglis have been included in the team.
A Cricket Australia spokesperson said, ‘We are conducting PCR tests of players, staff members and their family members on a regular basis every day. Unfortunately today Travis Head turned positive. The good thing is that they are asymptomatic patients. We are hoping that he will be available for team selection in the fifth Test.
