The detention of a ship carrying the UAE flag and medical equipment… and the destruction of marches launched towards Saudi Arabia

While the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced a Houthi piracy of a ship carrying the UAE flag and medical equipment in the Red Sea, yesterday, hostile air targets launched towards Saudi Arabia were intercepted and destroyed.

The coalition stated that the Saudi defenses intercepted and destroyed 5 drones launched towards the Kingdom, explaining that they were launched from the Yemeni capital, Sanaa. “We are monitoring the sources of the threat to destroy and neutralize them,” he said. And he indicated that operational options are on the table “in response to the threat and deterring the militia’s hostile behavior.”

Before that, the Saudi Ministry of Defense announced the shooting down of a hostile air target that was launched towards Taif from inside Yemen, pointing out that deterrent operational measures were taken to neutralize the threat and protect civilians.

On the other hand, the spokesman for the coalition, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, said that the ship that was pirated was on a naval mission from the Yemeni island of Socotra to the port of Jizan, carrying on board all the field equipment for operating the Saudi field hospital after the end of its mission and the establishment of a hospital on the island. He added: “The ship’s cargo includes ambulances, medical equipment, communications equipment, tents, a field kitchen, a field laundry, and technical and security support accessories.” He continued, “The Houthi militia must release the ship immediately, otherwise the coalition forces will take all necessary measures and measures to deal with this violation, including the use of force when necessary.”

To justify the piracy process in front of the international community, the Houthi militia loaded weapons on board the ship to change its cargo and for the purpose of falsifying reality, according to Yemeni sources.

The government of Yemen, the Gulf states, Arab countries, the Council of Arab Interior Ministers and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemned the hacking operation, stressing their support for the actions of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy to deal with this flagrant violation.

In addition, the coalition announced the implementation of 35 targeting operations against the militia in Marib and Shabwa, indicating the destruction of 15 vehicles and the elimination of more than 133 terrorist elements in Shabwa.
