Corona Omicron Cases: In many cities of the country including Delhi, Mumbai, the speed of corona does not seem to be decreasing. Corona cases increased 3 times in Delhi in the last 5 days. In the last 24 hours, 4099 new cases have been reported in the capital. In 7 and a half months, maximum cases of corona have been reported. Last year on May 18, 4482 cases were reported. At present, the active cases of corona in Delhi are 10,986, while the number of containment zones is 2008.
The effect of Omicron is also being seen a lot in Delhi. In the last 15 days, the cases of Omicron have increased very rapidly in Delhi. In the last 2 days, 84 percent of the corona cases were from Omicron.
DDMA may consider more sanctions
Amid a rapid rise in the number of coronavirus cases in the national capital, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in its meeting to be held today may consider more restrictions to check the spread of the infection. The DDMA, in its last meeting on December 29, had decided that the restrictions imposed under the ‘yellow alert’ in Delhi would continue as the number of patients admitted to the hospital was low.
On the other hand, the situation in Mumbai also looks worse. In the last 24 hours, 8082 new cases of corona have been registered in Mumbai. 40 new cases of Omicron were reported. There are 11 active containment zones in Mumbai and 318 buildings have been sealed. BMC additional commissioner Suresh Kakani said, as the cases are increasing, we are conducting more tests. 90% of the beds are still vacant.
New cases of corona are increasing continuously in other states as well. If we talk about the figures that came on Monday, in the last 24 hours, 6078 new cases have been reported in West Bengal, 2560 in Kerala, 1259 in Gujarat, 793 in Haryana, 698 in Chhattisgarh, 572 in Uttar Pradesh and 344 in Bihar.
