Fear of Omicron: Manual ticket counters of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort closed

New Delhi: In view of the current Kovid-19 situation, the manual ticket counters of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort in Agra, Uttar Pradesh were closed on Monday.

Dr Raj Kumar Patel, superintending archaeologist, said, “There was a huge crowd outside the ticket windows. Following this it was decided to close the windows of manual ticket counters. However, the monuments are not completely closed.”

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh on Monday reported 514 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The ministry said that the state has so far registered eight cases of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.
