Chief Meteorologist of the Meteorological Department Sardar Sarfraz said that the rains starting from today in Karachi will increase the cold and the temperature may go up to single digits.
According to Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz, strong winter westerly winds have affected Balochistan. This westerly wind system has brought good rainfall in South Balochistan.
He said that under this system, there is a possibility of thundershowers and rain in Karachi from this evening or night, during which strong cold winds may blow.
The chief meteorologist said that winds of 45 to 54 kmph could blow in Quaid-e-Azam city while moderate to heavy rains are expected in the city.
He said that intermittent rain is expected in Karachi till the afternoon of January 5, while intermittent rain will come after January 5.
Sardar Sarfraz said that the westerly winds will be active again from the afternoon of January 6, due to which the rain may continue till the morning or afternoon of January 6-7.
He added that 40 to 50 mm of rain could fall in Quaid-e-Azam city in this regard.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz also said that the cold snap in the city could increase from January 8, while the temperature could go into single digits.
